Ultraman is a very popular Japanese 'tokusatsu' TV series. It was a big hit here in Brazil in the 60s or 70s. I wasn't born at that time, but I watched some reprises that were on air in the 90s. Despite the poor visual effects, the concept of the main character and the stories are great. Visual effects were improved along the years, as new Ultraman series were being made, and the most recent ones are visually spectacular.The position of his hands in this drawing is a little inaccurate. Left hand should be a little higher, next to right wrist. I made the lineart from memory and searched for reference only for the colors. Sorry for any mistake

Well to be fair, you're not the only one to make this mistake, but yeah the series is awesome. I got the boxset for my birthday last year, along with the PS2 games.

Apesar de gostar muito de Ultraman, a série não fez parte da minha infância. Os que eu via mais quando criança eram Jaspion, Changeman, Flashman e outras séries dos anos 80. Só fui assistir Ultraman bem mais tarde, num programa de anime e tokusatsu que a Manchete exibiu durante alguns meses. Achei a série sensacional. E quando vi as versões mais recentes do personagem, com efeitos visuais mais aprimorados, aí virei fã.

Eu era pequeno e chorei quando o Ultraman Jack morreu, eu disse isso só pra dizer o quanto eu adorava esse heroi japonês, hehe.

Ultraman was cool back in the 70s. I used to love Ultraman, right along with Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot. You should check that one out, too.

Ultraman owns - just wish I didn't have to buy all my dvds of it from thailand, the subtitles suck - but this picture more than makes up for it! Brilliant.
