I uses the brushes as a base to get it looking right from the get-go but that doesn't mean you have to stick to the original design. You can move edges curve them or even add features that weren't there to begin with.

Thanks! I've watched all of your videos so far, they're great. 

It's just furniture I'm having trouble with so I know how big to make the room, I was going to make my bedroom to practice on, but not sure how to draw out the beds etc.
