That is one fantastic shot. Crisp, clean, perfectly in focus. One nit-pick, since you cleaned it up in Photoshop, couldn't you have gotten rid of that little white spec in the bottom center? We OCD personalities twitch over stuff like that.

what I like in the photograph is that it looks (even more than the average picture) like you freezed the moment.. I know all pictures are like that but in this picture it strikes me

maybe has to do with the very big aperture and small DoF?

This baffles me... I don't know why this photo works, but it most definitely does. Yeah, the (very) shallow depth of field is nice for isolating the subject and the emphasis on the blues/cool color temp are doing nicely for the shot, but there's something else... can't quite put my finger on it. Regardless, nice shot. What is this, like a 50mm (film) prime F1.4 on an digital (APS-C sensored) body giving you that razor-sharp clarity and like 80mm effective focal length w/that shallow DoF?
