wow! i really like the blueish green background. the composition gives a positive feeling and underlines the proud pose.
the focus is just great and i enjoy watching the different colour shades and patterns of the feathers!
what tele lens do you use? if i take shots of birds the shot always gets noisy and out of focus..

Thank you a lot
I use a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.
I always use no more than ISO 200 with my XSi, more than that my camera adds a lot of noise. But sure, I need good light to use good shutter speeds.
Birds are hard to photograph if they don't stay quiet and you don't have a fast focus lens. Mine is average.. when I'm tring to take photos of flying birds, for example, I get a lot out of focus
This bird stood few minutes in the same place, so was easy to get the correct focus

They are very common here
The big feather in the back makes a big tail when he is flying, it's a great bird

Beautiful, we have a bird (in Puerto Rico) that seems very close to this one, specially the peck

No, the one here is all black, the peck is very robust, they have quite long feathers compare to other birds and also they make a very unique sound. I think they have a prehistoric morphology and they usually fly close to the plants and trees rather than high in the air. I sent you a great image in the link. [link]

I have another shot of this bird here in the same position of this from your link. Looking closely... really, the differences you said are notable, but the equalities are intense. Searching in the internet, I found some photos of this specie with few variables between them, so I think our birds are the same
