Im gonna get crap for my views on localization. Im not in defense of what US dubbers have done, but im not gonna say that Japan or any other company is innocent of this as well.Its all Im saying, nobody is perfect, and the only reason anyone gave a damn about SailorMoon is cause they saw Dic...I mean THAT version first. Its not like I liked the original any less then when they Dic'd Sailormoon in front of children. And they Dic'd the hell outta her.

Technically, this was all through a little company called "Toon Makers," as Saban had nothing to do with it. I wouldn't have minded the toon makers version, as they had some interesting concepts, like the space sail boards.
Also, Jupiter was Sailor Saturn in blackface... really.

You dont know bout SMA... I'll explain:
The Jupiter on the left [non black] is a teen gay crossdresser with a "ghetto accent" which is the character portrayed in the orignal Abridged series by Megami33 [She plays Bulma in Team4Star DBZ Abridged & Sir Hellsing in Hellsing Abridged]
I made Jupiter as black irish... I was going for a Mariah Carey thing there [and yes she is ebony in the trailer, much how Mars was Asian, Mercury ginger & wheel chair bound, and Venus non descript brown ethnicity]

I said that in defense of DiC because at the time many and to this day are still bashing english voiced dubs Β Which is unfair since there are so many western VAs who do take their craft seriously. Β I like Japanese media culture but im not going to pretend that its somehow superior because raisens. Β Several US & Japanese Americans enthusiasts of Anime culture themselves have open admitted how mass produced and how little the JVAs cared about what they had to work with. Β And it shows with the Anime industry having been in steady decline the last few years.
Also the Dic Dub was cartoonishly horrendous but made for a great parody.
This comic was based off the Sailor Moon Abridged series [a parody in the vein of YuGiOh or Team4Star Dragon Ball Z Abridged] which poked fun of the original release and made by hard core enthusiasts of the Sailor Moon series.

So that's what the Saban Moon characters look like up close. Most of what I saw on the net is kind of blurry most of the time. It's kind of like fan project in some sort of way.
