This scene would epitomize the opening shots fired at the tyrannical authoritarian regime of the A.N.E.G. by the renewed and improved E.P.L.R. faction.

400 years ago, they were driven from all they knew and love, most having to abandon friends and families, most having to kill said friends and families who served alongside but chose to join the State and the mad man who'd come to control all facets of Humanity.

For 40 years, they fled. For 40 more, they colonized and survived, and for 320 they rebuilt themselves to the designs of their overwatch A.I. strategists who dedicated all of their time and capabilities to planning a path to victory for the remnants.

For 400 years, these refugees bled every day to survive and lay the foundations for a new Human people to wage a new kind of war never seen in Human history's space age.

For 400 years, they licked their chops for the time of resurgence, praying that if not their generation, then the next would be the ones to make the A.N.E.G. bleed on every planet they crushed.

And on the eve of the new year, 2520, ships never seen by the empirical A.N.E.G. transitioned from FTL with ships going dead and tumbling towards the nearby planet. Similar events were happening across three dozen different solar systems along the inner galactic arm's side of enemy territory.

Across two dozen more sectors of space, A.N.E.G. scouting, patrol and supply fleets were struck with nuclear magnetic stealth missiles left inert a few thousand miles away from space stations.

Raiding fleets struck the surprised stations and killed every man, woman and machine that tried to stop them.

Rapid Response Fleets were quick and professional and arrived to the battle zones just to catch the retreating forms of E.P.L.R. warships.

Meanwhile, in sync with their raids, the tumbling cold fleets came to life well within range of enemy sensor stations and defense platforms and blew them away, unveiling worlds with little orbital fleet protection due to faraway response missions.

In high altitude, warships rained heavy laser and kinetic strikes against anything of value, toppling whole skylines in minutes and razing air defense stations ahead of swarms of dropships loaded with massive superhuman soldiers.

Once over their targets, these men and women leapt from the ships and fell upon their objectives, crushing ground and bodies under them and moving with inhuman swiftness and brutality through whole neighborhoods that soon became fogged with chemical agents.

A.N.E.G. garrisons fought back hard and without fear, but they were wholly unprepared for such enemies and whole platoons were slaughtered by single squads of the Stratospheric Assault Troopers of the new Humanity.

It would be this day across three dozen worlds that Mark Vandire, autocratic ruler and tyrant, would feel his empire bleed for the first time in dozens of years, for while he had thought the rebels who escaped his hasty purge had died after no sightings in four centuries, the war never ended for them. The soldiers of the E.P.L.R. today carry the accumulated hunger for revenge across all 20 generations of Humans since and they all would have their ton of flesh ripped from the massive body of the A.N.E.G..
