Experimenting with snow on the bases.Hope it's good.

For snow I would either go with regular plaster or artificial snow, wool and the like just look too hairy.

its a good start but i would paint the guardsmen with winter camo so it makes it hard for the enemy to tell.

Normal guardsmen arn't supposed to be mimetic: if you read carefully the codex, you might learn that the Imperium doesn't care at all about them.
Just kidding (but it's somewhat true)!
Still they're not meant for "snow only" environment, but something like urban-snowish. (I know they wouldn't be much mimethical there either, but, in my opinion, this scheme rocks)
The snipers have a good snow camo, but there aren't in this photo.

well if i did my guardsmen i would make their uniform and vehicals match the terrain their in.
but what ever floats your boat.

They are somewhat similiar to the terrain they should be in, it's only that white wasn't cool at all, so I changed it with a light blue

well it dose not matter on what type of colors you go with just remember if your unit stick out like a sore thumb then your f***ed.

Is the snow the modeling snow, or is is something else

The snow isn't actually GW snow, it' s PolyEthilene (PE). It's a plastic.
Works just like GW snow (a little worse maybe) but it's a LOT cheaper.
And... the banner's not good, the fact it's blurry makes you think it's good, but it's not.
Soon I'll be making it again untill it's good. Then i'll make a not-blurry photo.

Hey, that guy with the bolt pistol, where is his head and mid-section from. I noticed he has more armor and I've seen that before!

He' s a Valkyrie boltgun operator, but I used him to create a footman soldier ( XD ).
That' s why you never saw him before.

Oh yeah, I make likes of custom models. The snipers for my vet squads have custom las snipers, I removed the flash suppressor and flattened the top of the gun, added a sniper scope and used the handle to the squad banner for a new barrel. Worked rather well.

Marbo and Harker are. The snipers aren't, I'll eventually post then too once they're painted. Marbo is being remade soon too.

I asked Daka not to take a close photo on him coz he' s really ugly. And when I say ugly it's because it really sucks.
That' s why he' s in the background, where nobody can see that I hate painting flags and such.
The good thing is that he's going to be replaced soon by the metal model of Jarran Keel 
That one is going to be much better.
If you (or anybody else) still want to have a better look on this one, ask again and I'll make him decent ASAP, and submit him again.

nop you dont write too much. but, i say one thing. take back the standard , and paint him, just for practise, before moving to keel. just an advise
