Description Infinite enclosed space housing varieties of restless life all boozing away trouble, creating weather where there is none. A collage of my own works, many of which were inspired by Giger.

I'm glad you dig it. I was pretty pleased with it. Ooo I just saw Heavy Metal for the first time today including work by some of the artists you mentioned.

Did you like it? My favourite parts are the cab driver and sex robot (both voiced by John Candy!) and the last one. I think the music in it is awesome too.

I hear there gonna make a live-action Heavy Metal soon - it will have three parts one of wich will be directed by Ridley Scott. Don't know what to expect frankly...

Hehe I liked some of it, especially the cab driver bit. And the music is great.

Oh dear. I'm afraid for how that'll be. Ridley Scott before 1983 was great. But Ridley Scott now...

Yeah i'm not too sure either... I've often wondered about why great directors make such bad movies in their later days.... it doesn't seem to happen to illustrators so it must be a hollywood-thing. I used to be a big fan of Paul Verhoeven - he used to make wonderfull pulpy Dutch movies and later made Robocop, Total Recall and the awesome Flesh + Blood. But now he's back in Holland and made the most boring and pointless WWII movie i've ever seen...

About the only director who seems to develop is Scorsese.... although his best film is still Raging Bull.

Scott only gave us 3 good films though, in 5 years. After that he immediately went to making crap. I agree about Verhoven getting crappy after Total Recall.
I think Scorsese is done though. Once he started using DiCaprio his career as a genius was over. Everything after Bringing Out The Dead has been worthless and thoroughly beneath him.

Well i did like Gangs of New York. But that was despite DiCaprio - i liked it for "Bill the Butcher" and the interesting history.

Just to annoyingly return to my point what is it about great directors making sucky movies in their later years? Do they lose perspective or do they just get complacent? Any current directors you think are still great? I did like Woody Allen's last film - but that was after a whole string of duds...

Yeah, Bill the Butcher was great, but the film didn't really have an interesting story. History rules, but it doesn't always make for good movies.

I think every creative person has an expiration date. After a certain point they lose their spark and either start imitating themselves or worse just become hacks. I really enjoyed Match Point but it was also the first good movie Woody Allen had made in almost ten years. I think The Coen Brothers are still great, in spite of two bad films in 2002 and thereabouts, I think David Fincher is still great in spite of Panic Room, and I think Darren Aronofsky is still great. Ooo and I still very much enjoy Sidney Lumet although I think he may die soon.
