Commish for D-boy [link] of his fancy characters from his webcomic. [link]whoot!
He asked me to do something along the lines of that old coppertone sunblock ad where the little doggie pants' the cute little girl.
This is what I came up with.

I like the sun.
...really, I do, it has a soft feeling to it. Well the rest of the image is pretty neat too, I like the water splashing effects they seem relatively simple, yet they do their job pretty well.
Altough one has to wonder about that crab.. how did it managed to climb up to his knee without him doing anything about it? How did the crab managed to get a hold of her bottom? That crab must have more skills than meets the eye.
I must say her comic-expression/position is pretty entertaining... altough there's something odd on her foot. Aren't her toes being looked at "from the front"? That's the perception I got from it O.o (I know cartoons are pretty flexible, but to bend one foot's like that is... ouch X.x) Hm... I like the small lines that mark up her column, but don't they become a bit uniform on her upper back? It almost feels like a dotted line... I should go do some research to compare, because I don't remember how other images have dealt with the back vertebral lines.
Hmm.. now that I've looked some more at this, I am rather pleased with the highlightning work... it's so very nicely done, the way the highlights vary in strenght depending on the exposure to the sun that they get is subtle enough that it doesn't jumps at one until after staring at it for a while... very good highlighting.
Hmm.. I haven't really commented on the boy, have I? Perhaps because I am not that interested in them XP, but anyway, he's pretty fine, position and shapes are just fine with him, so there was nothing much to remark about him XP I do think that the redhair's expression is to be remembered for a long while =3
