Description
Beer and spit litter the groundAnd somewhere in the distance
A guitar sounds,
And all I can think of
Is how sick it's making me,
And how much I want to leave
I imagine somewhere
Someone found this amusing
To let me intrude upon there fun
Beside the firelight
There cruelest game was won
As I squirm praying for the sun
Her body danced
Under the light with another
Shadow games
Shadow lovers
How was I suppose to know
That the firelight
Was such an intoxicating glow
Oh, how was I suppose to know
Under the firelight
She sowed what she would reap,
Impatient lovers
Ones that she could never keep,
And in the shadows I did everything but sleep
Until the morning came,
And with it went my soul
My trust and fortitude
Lay scattered in the coals
How was I suppose to know?
I didn't know
I didn't know

That's really haunting and sad. I've never been to a bonfire...

They literally sicken me. I had never gotten the "trigger" thing until I made this connection.

There are certain things I avoid due to bad memories, but I also try to do or go to those things and make new better memories. Maybe someday you will be able to go to a bonfire and replace all the pain with something good.
