Let and Riz sat across from each other at a downtown restaurant, located in the further reaches of the city. It was a special day and the two of them had decided to spend it together starting with a meal at a popular place known for its delicious food: The Nightlife Animal.

"So Let, how were you able to earn the money for this place? I'm curious." Riz started with a gentle smile.

"Believe it or not, my spells have made me pretty popular in the Black Market." Let responded, chuckling lightly. "Some of the merchants asked me to use Fire to cook the meat they've been selling when their flames died and the kids liked playing with the ice crystals from Blizzara. The power even went out at one point, so I used Thundaga to supercharge the generator for the area."

"Impressive. So you became something like a magic handyman?" The bear asked with a cute smirk.

"I guess that's one way to put it." They both had a laugh as the food was brought to their table just then. A bottle of Chianti Classico, a basket of French rolls, Mediterranean salad, and Japanese soup noodles topped with egg were placed by the staff.

"Please enjoy, gentlemen." The Alpine ibex server said as they left.

"Thank you for coming with me here, Riz. I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather spend this day with than you."

"You're welcome. I'm amazed you've taken to our world so well. Becoming friendly with the folks at the Black Market, earning money there, and actually finding one of the most popular restaurants in the city, how did you manage to pull it all off?"

"Well, you're a big reason why. If it weren't for you, I'd have lost my way entirely and given in to despair. I mean it when I say you saved me, Riz."

The brown bear blushed a little at Let's words. For someone to think of a big, powerful carnivore like himself as some kind of savior was something he'd never imagined hearing in his life. He recalled when Let told him everything about where the human had come from, the horror he witnessed at seeing his world completely wiped out in front of his eyes, and the overwhelming anguish that threatened to consume him in the aftermath. Riz didn't see himself as any kind of hero, considering what he'd done, but when Let looked to him for comfort in his most vulnerable moment, he felt a strong desire to protect him.

"This all looks very delicious." Let said, catching Riz's attention. "It's amazing how much your world reminds me of my own at times."

"That's a good thing." Riz handed Let one of the French rolls and took one for himself while Let poured the Chianti.

"To us." The human said as he raised his glass. The bear raised his own to meet it as they clinked.

"To us." The two of them then proceeded to enjoy their dinner.

To celebrate my birthday this year, I wanted to have something extra special done and I commissioned the amazing super artist duo of :iconsamashtommy; to help me fulfill that desire. They completely blew away my expectations too, especially with this scene. It's absolutely beautiful.
