Mno. Some people make use of their association cortexs and can tell that a default name for an rpg's protagonist is most likely how the company identifies with him/her.
To have thought his name was zelda means that a person had to be either dyslexic (which is arguably just minimal willpower and illiteracy) or presumptuous.
Nothing to be ashamed of though! These are traits of children, so many who played the series could defiantly have made that mistake as they /are/ the target audience. However, do not assume at any point in time that /everyone/ is incapable of utilizing their sentience.

i think Nintendo dodged a bullet by naming the series after Zelda because since Link is just the default name and he can be given any name players want then the moment you give him his name the game becomes Legend of Dumbutt or Legend of Retard or whatever other stupid names people come up with.
