Thanks
I used photoshop to create all of it. Textures were taken from a wood tree in my front yard.

I love the colorscheme and the whole light thing you've got going on. Planet texture looks a bit distorted in places and there are a few layer-lines here and there, but overall it's definitely some really competent work. Great job.

Very nice!
Only problem with it is that directly touching the left side of the planet, in the really black area you can see your brush strokes and it doesnt look good and doesnt fit with the rest of the pic.
If that is fixed, this will definately go on my list of favorites!

If you fixed it, you either fixed the wrong part or forgot to upload it.
This link will show you the area i was talking about: [link]

Little better, but you can still see it.
Maybe that mark is on one of your layers besides the background layer. you could erase it all the way then.

i love the nebula part on the left side the top right seems a little over exposed for my liking (it would look better with more of a light radiance i guess)

I know what you mean. I know I've seen a few pieces of artwork out there that have this. I was thinking the same thing you said.
I knew it would be liked by some and disliked by others.
Next time, I'll try and tone down the color dodge.

Yes, pure photoshop.
A few good tutorials should get you on your way. I think what motivated me the most was this new monitor.
Though, it's good to think artistically as well.
