Description Another page from the zine.

Wiki:
"Yuki-onna appears on snowy nights as a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair and blue lips. Her inhumanly pale or even transparent skin makes her blend into the snowy landscape (as famously described in Lafcadio Hearn 's Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things ). She sometimes wears a white kimono ,[3]  but other legends describe her as nude, with only her face and hair standing out against the snow.[4]  Despite her inhuman beauty, her eyes can strike terror into mortals. She floats across the snow, leaving no footprints (in fact, some tales say she has no feet, a feature of many Japanese ghosts ), and she can transform into a cloud of mist  or snow if threatened."

Thanks! Yeah i hope the added context will help with understanding what's going on. XD Most of these things have other stories/tales. So if you search them up sometimes they have multiple stories that somewhat change as the culture aged. Like I think this one in particular has it's own inspired movie.

Whaa I haven't yet. Ever since starting the project I keep finding new things to look at. I should probably check it out.

If you happen to know of anything based on yokai, let me know about it! The most recent one I checked out was called Medicine Seller. Aesthetically it's pretty interesting so it's worth looking at just for that. Though story telling is akin to how people told stories way back. Hard to explain but yeah. o uo

Thanks! I'm hoping to develop my lineart a bit more and this series will probably help me out a bit. Glad you're liking it cause with every new idea comes with lots of uncertainty, so this is reassuring to say the least ahah

Extreme beauty and floaty walk? Somebody hire her as a supermodel! Now seriously, this is the kind of supernatural being I like the most: one that is uncannily close to reality, but not quite there (that and the classic eldritch lovecraftian horrors)

I haven't delved into horror enough to know it's different subcategories, that is really interesting! Thanks for mentioning it!

I highly recommend H.P. Lovecraft's work. It's the classic many others have grown from.
