Description

It would seem things are really starting to heat up in Leviathan as we get a treat of a match between Umiko Sakaguchi against Isabelle Cosette. Both fighters really need to pick up the win here. For one of them, it’s for the sake of redemption and proving why she deserves to be called an elite and while the other wishes to be noticed as a fighter who can compete with the best. Granted Umiko was suffering from leg injuries from the previous two matches, but now Umiko’s legs were about somewhat healed, so Isabelle was expecting to get Umiko at her very best!

To summarize the beginning of the match, it started out quite evenly matched, Isabelle was able to counter and go blow for blow with Umiko’s lightning-fast kicks. Isabelle at one point almost made her elite advisory tap-out in an STF chokehold, but Umiko was able to get her feet on the ropes for a rope break. But it shouldn’t go without saying, the Sea Serpent was able to lock in a good share of her own submissions onto Isabelle who found ways to easily escape the holds.

With the match being an even fifty-fifty chance of going either, it came down to who was going to make the first fatal mistake in this fight. Which was going to be Isabelle. Throughout the match, Umiko was peppering Thresher’s legs with shoot kicks to wear her down over time, but in reality, the Sea Serpent was just waiting for Isabelle to bite on one of those kicks and which she does. Isabelle on instinct saw Umiko going for another low kick once more and tried to bend down and block it. But with Umiko using one of her signature moves, she pump fakes the kick to Isabelle’s thigh and hits her signature Question Mark Kick. When Umiko’s foot connected across her opponent’s cheek, it made Isabelle drop down onto her knees clearly stunned. Knowing that this might be her only chance of finishing this match here and now, Umiko took rushed towards the ropes for a much-needed momentum boost, Umiko then jumped onto one of Isabelle’s knees before performing a Step-Up Axe Kick. When her heel connected onto the top of Isabelle’s head, Umiko saw the light in Isabelle’s eyes completely turn off and then collapsed onto the mat completely KO’ed.

This was a long gruelling match and which all came down to a chess game between these lethal fighters in which would seem Umiko called checkmate. Umiko went and rolled Isabelle onto her back and went for a simple pin thinking that’s that. Well, surprising everyone, in a last burst of resiliency, Isabelle kicked out of the pin on the two-count. The audience, commentators, and even Umiko was a bit shocked. Yet Umiko had to give her respects to this young competitor, she had heart and an even stronger will. Seeing this, Umiko knew had to give her opponent an honourable defeat. Umiko rolled her opponent onto their stomach before wrapping her legs around Isabelle’s throat and lock her in for a Figure Four Headscissors. With a bit of struggle and more last-ditch effort to break free, in the end, Isabelle subsequently passed out in the chokehold and Umiko was deemed the winner. When Isabelle came to in the ring, Umiko bowed and gave her respect as a fighter and offered to treat out for a dinner...Lucky.
