Lilac is likely the calmest filly you'd ever meet. She's not very feisty nor curious, and tends to not take charge. She is very much a lover and not a fighter, and is terrified of the thought of hurting others. Thus, she uses her skills for the comfort and relaxation of other ponies. Lilac has a natural gift in serenity, which makes her a lovable pony. She isn't much of a talker, and instead communicates with compassion and care. She particularly enjoys spending time at the Ponyville Spa, where she can really let her talent go to use. The workers at the Spa all agree that she's a part of the team.

The little foal, however, is prone to being too naive for her own good. She puts all her trust into everyone she meets, which will eventually lead to some rather unpleasant events. Later on, she'll learn to be more knowledgeable. Since Lilac is the daughter of not only the Friendship Ambassador of Dragons, but a very famous singer, she's had her fair share of being in the spotlight. She doesn't really like having famous parents, and wishes her life could be more normal and quiet. This is likely why she took an interest in mining for gems and jewels.

Lilac was half-raised by her aunt Rarity, and she always enjoyed watching the unicorn craft with such gems and jewels. One day, the foal was able to persuade Rarity to take her on one of her gem hunts with her father, Spike. Spike was more than happy to bring along his daughter, while Rarity was a little hesitant. In the end, Lilac became obsessed with gems. Spike took her on more and more gem hunts, and one time, they ran into Maud Pie. Maud joined them in their hunt, and noticed how excited and interested Lilac was. She suggested to Spike that the filly be taken under Maud's metaphorical wing. And thus began a friendship between the two.

Maud was a little "excited" to be teaching her first apprentice, and ended up giving her too much information all at once. She learned to be more patient with Lilac over time. The filly enjoys learning about geology, and used her skills to help make outfits with her aunt Rarity. Maud is not very fond of her apprentice using her skills for such a manner, but she trusts Lilac to do what she wants with said skills. Lilac is one of the few ponies that can actually make Maud smile.

Because she doesn't see her mother often, Lilac is overjoyed when she gets to see her. Sweetie always hoped that her daughter would try to be more out there, but she knows she can't force her, so instead taught her how to sing. Lilac has a singing voice almost as lovely as Sweetie Belle's, but is too shy to share it just yet. The two enjoy singing together.

Lilac's best friends are Gingersnaps and Claudious. The three foals are a rag-tag bunch and previous Cutie Mark Crusaders. The only trouble she ever causes is because of her friends' influence. She's usually the voice of reason and the strategist of the group.
