i've played and completed all of them and the are all beautiful

i still don't understand it
it simply does not make sense
all you get to do is walk and get shot at which makes the title to be wrong
can anyone explain?

It's an "art game" there are different endings. You can let the family die, die protecting them, or only save some of them. It's open-ended on purpose to leave it open to interpretation. One interpretation is that it's an anti-game where the only way to get a happy ending is to stop after you meet the family and not complete the game. Another is that it's about prejudice, fear, and hatred. Other people argue that the family suffers only because of this alien's interaction with them and it should have never interacted with the family much less walked them into the middle of a battlefield.
