Here's my entry for SoundtehBugle 's Rattlederg contest!! It was such a fun challenge, since I usually don't work with this color palette (or speckled patterns haha)

Here's some info on this derg:

This dragon is an elite predator, designed for stealth and speed. The body markings are inspired by the Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake and are great for camouflage among bright desert sands. The speckled markings on the backsides of the main frills and wings enable the dragon to either fold them or lay them out, and still remain camouflaged. Even this dragon’s eyes, a light gray like the body, contribute to its incredible stealth. This enables the dragon to sit very still, unblinking eyes wide open, ready to ambush unsuspecting prey. On the underside of the dragon’s frills and wings is a bold pattern with starkly contrasting values, great for both threat and/or mating displays. The dragon will also use its rattle in these cases.

This dragon has the quadruped build of a kaprosuchus, an ancient crocodilian with an upright posture, which is great for quick bursts of speed over land. The dragon’s elliptical wing shape facilitates acrobatic maneuvers in the air, quick takeoffs, and aerial sprints. Together, these features make the Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake Dragon an excellent predator.
