It is depressing to know that even with her reputation as Titanic's twin, not ONE SINGLE PERSONΒ thought up the idea of preserving the ship like the Queen Mary. Olympic was the closest thing a tourist would have hadΒ of being aboard the Titanic. Since both her sisters were lost, what couldn't they have saved "Old Reliable" herself? It's sad you don't see grandeur like that in ocean liners anymore.

at the time they couldn't afford to. Her running costs were too high and she was suffering from metal fatigue. Also White Star CUNARD was in financial trouble due to the financial crash back then and they had to retire a lot of their old fleet and scrap them pay for things, this included the construction of the Queen Mary.

So, the stock market crash is partially to blame in a way. Still, if I was a millionaire back then, I'd have bought that ship and set it up as a floating hotel.

Where are all the extra lifeboats located (and I am not referring to the ones located on the sides of the ship)?
Disregard the question if the extra lifeboats are collapsible ones.

the Extra life-boats are the ones going across the who length of the boat-deck, where as before she only had 4 at both ends with a gap in the middle.
