Nexus jumped down from the roof of a nearby building and landed on the middle Steel Ranger. His weight being a robot was enough to overwhelm the Ranger armour and crush the pony inside. He used his surprise entrance to quickly strike out at the other two Steel Rangers, hitting them in critical areas and killed them too. Once saving Crystal, Fruity and Xian he announced his intent to join them.
