Now that the Daniel Craig era is officially over, the search for a new Bond is seemingly taking its time. If the next instalment is some form of a soft reboot and Ralph Fiennes doesn’t return as M, then one of cinema’s greatest chameleons, Gary Oldman, would be nigh on perfect in the role.

He’s played Sid Vicious, Dracula, Commissioner Gordon, Winston Churchill, a corrupt DEA agent, a maniacal Russian terrorist, and even voiced a power hungry peacock in Kung Fu Panda 2, so what better way than to round off an epic career by playing Bond’s superior? Oldman recently stated that he might retire in the near future, so there’s never been a more better time to play this role. What do you all think?
