Description
More of my science fiction an paleo art appears in this gallery:[link]
This is a pen and ink illustration I did long ago that was inspired by the "Gentle Giants of Ganymede" trilogy bt James P. Hogan.
I have subsequently hand colored it with Prismacolors.
It depicts an alien civilization exploring Earth during the Oligocene Epoch. The animals in the foreground are examples of the genus Syndyoceras. It was a representative of the extinct artiodactyl family Protoceratidae.

What do the aliens look like outside of their suits?

James P. Hogan provides descriptions in his novels. I only depicted these beings in one other drawing:

The concept has been around for a long time.
The earliest example I can recall is a short story written in the 1930's in which aliens visit the Earth during the Cretaceous.

I still find the cross-Atlantic migration between South America and Africa in the Eocene to be a quandry.

uh dude.....humanity started in africa, moved to asia, then across the land bridge through out north america and then down to south america.....wouldnt u mean cross pacific? since the land bridge was between russia and alaska? and it makes sense how inuit look chinese and the more south u got from the north pole the less asian native people look and more aztec looking? where as native americans are somewhere in between.....but and even better question is, skin tone.......howcome most euros are like pasty white, and everyone else is brown of some pigment

The intercontinental exchange I referred to took place 50 million years before the evolution of hominids and has nothing to do with them. Rather it involved forms such as hystricomorph rodents and xenarthrans.
