This is a tribute to the John Romita "look" for Spiderman in the late 1960's. Romita's cityscapes of NYC looked like the real thing.
I've seen Manhattan in the rain like this many times. I too can draw it from memory.

I had originally drawn the figure upright and then rotated it by 90 degrees.

If you notice how crammed into the picture Spidey is, it is because I chose this orientation so he could fill the space. 2.5" X 3.5" is not much to work with.
