at first, i thought that this was made to look like one of those WWII looking posters with the ocloring style and all...but this was looking at simply the thumbnail. after taking a look at the preview (and now the full view) i am ladly mistaken in this. i really like your general use of colors as well as showing some of the hardware that the US army uses....however, there are some glaring mistakes that i see. first off is the extension thats above the guntube on the M1 series tanks (i cant tell just which one they are cause i cant see the parts that make a difference, no biggie). it IS there, its to mount various devices for MILES equipment (baisly army laser-tag) when we do manuvers in places like NTC, its jut not so large and prominant. the other glaring mistake i see is the American Flag....its on the wrong shoulder. it IS facint the right direction though with the blue facing towards the front. but it is the Unit Patch that goes on the Left Shoulder while the American Flag and Combat Patch (if there is one) goes on the Right. dont worry about me piking on you about this. the ONLY reason why i feel that i would have noticed this is because i used to be an Armor Crewman and i wear that uniform every single day

aside from those things, i think its a great piece of work. and i think its great that youve shown the XM8 rather than the M16 or the seemingly popular M4. though if this guy is Armor, he would have a 9mm rather than a rifle of any sort (i didnt mention that above cause im assuming that hes not an Armor soldier). anyway, i really like the colors and the tone that you set with this. i really do like it, all critiques aside

The pic's killer LOL
But is the jacket really old, or is the pic on a muted color palette (...for lack of better words ) The goggles show up red, but the flag's kinda muted. Just wondering, is all. I've seen jackets worn through harsh weather and know that the colo can fade...
...>_<;
Answered my own question XD Never mind... *steals soldier*

great colors you've used for the pic. they look really sandy. that adds a cool realism-effect.
nice outcome of the xm8! looks really cool.
nice background!

its the XM8 Assault Rifle. right now its still in the experimental/testing stages because they are trying to find lighter and less bulky materials to use for it. this is because not only is it supposedly going to be able to fire 5.56 mm rounds with a bullpup style (that is the magazine behind the pistol grip/trigger rather than in front of it) magazine, but you can supposedly take it apart rather easily and make it a 7.62 rifle, a caliber .50 sniper rifle and attach a 25 mm (i believe) grenade launcher that fires with a pump-action system.

ive read some artils about this in the Stars and Stripes awhile back so i dont recall all the details, but this is supposed to be far and above the M16 and the AK-47 in weaponry

Ahh...

Yeah, I remember seeing some prototypes at one of the Armor Confrences they hold at Fort KNox.

Last time I checked, they are still going ahead with the weapon itself...but that was back in 2005. No idea if anything changed since then or not...
