Ah, those are sure some quality figures, based on what everyone's saying about them, I'd get one, if I had money..

I had to debate slightly about spending this $20 on Spidey or toward my next airsoft accessory.
The lack of shipping and the intrigue of a new articulated action figure won me over.
I guess the Maruzen Type 96 can wait a little while longer

Ohh, that must have been a pretty tough call, those Maruzen rifles are real nice, as far as I've heard. But a break from airsoft and paying shipping every now and then is a good thing, as I keep having to tell myself..

I know, I've been wanting one of those since they first came out.
Now that their performance has been documented all over the web, It's prime time to get one. I got a note from WGC the other day telling me they're in stock again.
Man, My wife is so going to slap me if she finds out I bought another gun, if I were to order one that is.

Key word, IF she finds out. But if she's willing to work out a compromise, try to work towards even ground, and hope it doesn't involve anything too dangerous or painful, like selling anything that's have a lot of customisation.

Wow, I wonder what the hell happend to my note?!
Anyways. I got a new KJW GBB, so, I gotta wait a little longer on that type 96.

Ah, maybe once you get done explaining how much fun it is collecting airsoft guns in the form of a convincing argument, you'll probably have more than enough money saved up. But defunitely get it once you can.

I know...
A good $400 is set aside for when the coast is clear. I just need to wait for awhile until she's less sensitive about me buying toys.

A nearly 3' long rifle replica is going to be hard to hide from her in our small apartment.
You see, I need some down time after my recent purchse of an KJᅵ@âᅵââ°âââââᅵâÅᅵD Since she knows about that one already, it would be "unwise" to get an even more expensive toy so soon after.
So, watch me continue to drool over that type 96.

*toy nerd moment* OOOOOH, they featured that figure in this month's Toyfare! FULL ARTICULATION ON EACH FINGER! *end toy nerd moment*
Er, ahem. This is an excellent photograph--I did a double take when I realized it was a picture of a toy, because the way you arranged the lighting and the figure makes it look like you just happened to snap a shot of the real Spiderman as, I don't know, he delivered your mail or something.

For me, every moment is a toy nerd moment. I never leave a Walmart/target/Kmart until I take a detour to the toy department.
The fingers on this fella is fantastic! looks great in assorted poses. Not perfect, but damn good!
I highly recommend this if anyone is ever interested to use a dummie for drawing reference.

I want that action figure damnit. I think it'd make an even better poseable dummy than my wooden man on a steel rod
But that is a great shot, the lighting and contrast are so drool worthy they bring out the pure redness of his costume. Great focusing

Thank man! I'm glad people can still enjoy this image even if it is just a picture of a toy.

Yay! You bought one!!
I told you they were fun... I change the pose on mine every like, 2 days. Becca uses it all the time as a pose mannequin (which was the excuse for buying it anyway).
67 points of articulation isn't the record, but for a $20 action figure it's a steal and then some.

fevereon In reply to lhs [2004-06-16 06:43:40 +0000 UTC]
Converting it into an original character.. scratchbuilt an articulated one back in 2001 , but since spidey's to scale with him, though i'd save some time by modding spidey lol..
the webbing's a complete pain to sand off because its rubbery & the figures heat sealed instead of screwed together (ack) some parts are difficult to reach the webbing..
next time, puttying the whole damn thing lol
you see te lil 7 inch ones as well? they have most of the articulation of the large ones.. got one of those too
ð: 0 â©: 2
Inkthinker In reply to fevereon [2004-06-16 10:11:20 +0000 UTC]
Puttying seems like the solution to me as well... it's be easier to fill in all the webbing and get a slightly bulkier character (but one which you could sculpt more finely if you wanted). Hell, with careful detail I bet you could even sculpt a reasonable face over the mask.

I did look at the smaller 46-points-of-articulation figure as well. In fact, I was thinking of getting one of the at first.
The segmented fingers on the 18" spidey won me over. I may get a smaller one for projects on the go.
I hope you will upload your mod project when you're finished

fevereon In reply to lhs [2004-06-16 07:11:29 +0000 UTC]
you know. the smaller one has articulated fingers as well. the joints *in* the fingers aren't articulated though, but its kinda like a lil model on-the-go lol
man this generation of figures are such a welcome break from all the weak designed figures.. toy biz really got their stuff together
ð: 0 â©: 1
lhs In reply to fevereon [2004-06-16 16:12:12 +0000 UTC]
Though the small spidey have posable fingers, they don't bend beyond the knuckles. At 18" + the posable fingers, the large Spidey actually is a nice pose maniquin for hands and arms as well.
I was sold on that alone.
I agree. the newer ToyBiz products have definitely upped the industry standard.

Oh yeah I saw that in a magazine one time. 64 points of articulation. Looked quite amazing.
Cool shot.

I saw this figure and finally gave in to the urge to purchase a movie franchise product...
So far, it's been a fine model to extract certain poses from.

I wish they made Chow Yun Fat movie tie-in figures with authentic stair-railing-sliding-dual-beretta action, I could really use that for poses..
