Jacob had a certain incurable disease that caused him to go to med school to study the disease and invent a cure. One day the doctors screwed up the formula and a zombie virus was created. After making a fuss in the labs, Jacob escaped and went out to bite people along the way. At some point he bumped into Raph, and like a last clumsy sucker he couldn't escape and could have turned into a zombie on the first day of this weird zombie apocalypse, but the bite turned out not to infect him, and Jacob started to return to his normal state after biting him. So he ( Raph) went like an innocent little flower to turn himself in to the scientists for experiments. The scientists took his blood, were shocked by what was happening, and began to fish out the other bitten people. They caught them quickly, gave them the blood, and they were cured. But Jacob, as patient zero, couldn't get rid of the virus completely, so they had to live with Rafe to have control over Jacob's adequacy while the scientists made the antidote.

peculiarities of the virus:

- The virus, as it seems to me, will affect the nervous system, dulling the mind and making a person aggressive and wild. That is, only living people will be able to be in a "zombie" state, and it will be transmitted only to living people.
- Zombies will not have a thirst for killing, probably (maybe only those who originally had some abnormalities, they will be aggravated by additional aggression), but they will have an instinctive desire to carry the virus further, that is, they bite not from hunger/bloodthirst, but to migrate the virus. Also recall the first point and realize that the virus needs a live host.
- Most likely, the virus will disrupt blood flow. The blood will slow down, the blood pressure will drop, the skin will turn pale. Instead of cadaveric spots and decomposition, there might be stuff like bruises and wounds and/or swollen veins
- I made all this up for the sake of justification, as guys come in from sex. The first time, while they are still little acquainted, Jacob will bite Rafe, which will cause his blood flow to start recovering and he may get a boner that he won't miss the opportunity to rub against Raph
