Maybe she was visiting relatives and Golden/Carrot is helping to take her home? Goodness, maybe she is actually a crystal pony!?

I honestly always disliked the concept of the little unicorn "Dinky" being Derpy's child. It was so far out there and absurd. The randomness always made me shake my head, and I felt Derpy didn't need the mother characteristic to be an interesting character.
