Hey Guys, LiamFitz34 here once again time for do another review of a S22 episode of Thomas & Friends since it's been since the last one. And stay tuned for the next few days because I've got 3 Halloween reviews of 3 three shows lined-up for Halloween on Thursday, so stay tuned. So today let's look at "Counting on Nia" and this is the final episode written by Lee Pressman before departing the show. So let's take a look.

So after Thomas' Introduction, we are given an Introduction all about Nia and she's clever and very good a solving problems as shown with helping Salty at the Docks and Gordon get a cow off the line. Then The Fat Controller calls for Nia and asks her to take Annie and Clarabel since Thomas is busy. Then we see Nia struggling with what Station to be on and almost collides with Rebecca, when Nia finally gets moving, she goes too fast and derails from the tracks. After being lift back into the rails by Rocky and a warning by The Fat Controller, Nia runs away to hide feeling upset and embarrassed. She tells Annie and Clarabel that she has trouble with numbers and doesn't know what how to tell which number is which, So Annie and Clarabel decide to help Nia learn about Numbers and pretty soon she gets the hang of it. And our story ends with Nia saying hi to Thomas and Toby by their numbers and is able to guess Philip's Number.

Okay I need to completely honest, I felt like this episode was too much like a episode of "Dora the Explorer" than "Thomas & Friends" and that fantasy sequence kinda showed it. Now I don't hate this episode, in fact it's a good one, but I felt some things were poorly written. I did love at beginning with Gordon when they bought in a reference to one of my favorite S2 episodes "Cows", that was very clever. Also this was the ONLY S22 where Thomas doesn't speak in the story, he just narrates the story, which makes a change. I'm also relieved that Annie and Clarabel were kind and caring in this episode, and not grouchy and whiny like in most episodes. A Big problem I had with this episode was Nia and her problem with not knowing Numbers, if she doesn't know Numbers, can someone explain to me why she has the same Number (18) that my OC has? It just doesn't make sense to me. So overall this episode was quite good to watch, While it is sad to say Goodbye to Lee Pressman, I wish him luck in his career and thank him for writing such great episode for the show.
