This is incredible... Do you reference your environments or is it all your own creation. Also are you able to nail these types of panels without erasing that much and how long does a page like this take you...and my last question is do you have any advice for a penciler like myself to achieve that type of a realistic touch? Like in what areas to pay attention to...thanks in advance and awesome work brotha, just so freaking awesome.

Thank you!
Re. environments - it's a mix of both. I did some research, and cyprus trees, for instance, are associated with the goddess Diana, so in they went. The pool and temple we based on a photo, but I added the weathering and plants. I have drawn A LOT of Ivy over the years, so I just make that up now. The Lillies were reffed, but the general mountainous terrain was made up, as was the figure work.
Best advice (and there's LOTS in my journals BTW) is - draw EVERYTHING, especially stuff you don't like to draw. Learn about FORM, LIGHT and SHADE, and PROPORTIONS. Learn perspective, and practice inking with a fine brush, not a pen. Bring pens in later. Keep the lines at the top of objects finer than the lines on the under-sides, and use finer and finer lines the further you get into the distance.
Hope that helps!Β

Oh man that helps out so much...i hate drawing building architecture and machines, too many lines for me but ill start working on them now...I've been inking with Faber castle pens and microns for a while now, but I'll see what I can do with a fine brush...thank you thank you thank you for the advice mr LiamSharp much obliged

I used to HATE doing the backgrounds. Now it's my favourite thing. Once it starts to look good you start to enjoy it! Very best!

I love the details in this. And the overall composition. The black-and-whiteness really makes this stand out a lot more. Love this. Good job.

Thank you! I sometimes don't know when to stop with the detail - but then I'm a sucker for it!
