It makes me VERY happy! My wife loves them both too! I've gotten a few people saying that if there were to ever be plushies of these guys, they should look like that! lol!

I can't wait to do more either! Oh this is so exciting!

I would SO love to make plushies of them if I had the time and materials! And the SKILLS! I suck at sewing, lol! XD Well, actually I've only tried once I made this little, purple, plush alien-thingy XD

Well, I know how to sew good enough to fix something like a tear or whatever else. I just don't really have experience when it comes to plushies...when I first tried it turned out I'd cut the pieces of material for some elements too small (found this out only AFTER sewing them) and had to do them again. Then when I was about halfway through, the stitches on the other side started to open! >___< It'd be a lot faster and easier if I had a sewing machine and didn't have to do everything by hand...
But I think the main problem is that I don't have enough patience for these things. My mom once tried to teach me how to knit...pfft! I FAILED so bad! XD

Everyday-Grind-Comic In reply to Libbit [2010-03-08 16:54:06 +0000 UTC]

Knitting is the devil, plain and simple. I cannot do it, period, lol. My friend can crotcet ($20 says I spelled that wrong) plushies while not even looking at her hands! She only makes dragons, but still, thats amazing!

Sewing machines are scary to me, lol. I used to watch my mom use one, and I thought it was a monster when I was a kid. It was a very old machine, howled like a banshee, and had a big scary red light when it was on, I was terrified of it! I can sorta use one now, and I laugh at myself and how I used to feel, but now I am scared that I will push my hand into the needle part, lol. So sewing by hand it is for me!

My mom can crochet cute little animal plushies~!
Baaaaw~ but she's too lazy to do them~! ;___; She made one each for my 3 friends (I didn't have moneh for Christmas gifts OTL) and she said she's never making any again (probably because I kept rushing her, lol!) But I'm gonna try to get her to make me a little human plushie!
We used to have a sewing machine...but that was before my family and I moved to Poland. I think my mom sold it...?

lol, I ALWAYS think about that when I see a sewing machine! XD I have these mental images of accidentally putting my hand under that needle! O___o But that's not just with sewing machines...staplers, random kitchen appliances anything that could possible cut me, pierce a hole in my skin or draw blood in any other way - I ALWAYS have the WORST possible image in my head!

Everyday-Grind-Comic In reply to Libbit [2010-03-09 16:40:57 +0000 UTC]

You should pester your mom for more plushies! lol! We may not be little anymore, but we are still "children" in our parents eyes...that means guilt trip! hehehe! But where from did you move to Poland? I've never been off the continent of North America, but I've moved all over the USA. I was born in Louisiana, Cajun Country as they call it! Still have a bit of an accent, which is always good for throwing people off!

I am the same with all machinery. My male friends make fun of me because of my refusal t use power tools. Give me the goddamned screwdriver, and keep that fancy witchery you call an electric driver away from me! lol! It is a fear I've always had, nor do I care to cure it. I know I will only tempt fate by putting my hands near those things! They won't get me!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Libbit In reply to Everyday-Grind-Comic [2010-03-09 18:21:20 +0000 UTC]

I don't know if pestering her will do any good, it might just get her annoyed instead, lol! XD

I was born in Toronto, Canada then lived and went to school in Hamilton for 5 1/2 years (stopped going to school in 6th grade in December). In February we moved to Poland, but since it was halfway through the school year, my mom decided to let me go at the beginning of the next year, so I ended up having an 8 month break! XD

I don't know if in my case it's a fear...it's more like a sick subconscious interest in "what's the worst thing that could happen if...?". I'm not afraid of using machinery, but the thought of it gives me freaky mental images...

Everyday-Grind-Comic In reply to Libbit [2010-03-10 16:53:07 +0000 UTC]

Good point, best not to bug her. Try giving her puppy dog eyes or something, lol! That may work

You have forever been in the north, eh? That's gotta be cool! I love cold and snow! Have you ever seen a desert? You aren't missing much, if you haven't. Blah. Cursed heat, reminds me of hell! lol! But at least you got an 8 month break! Still, it is never easy to go to a new school. New friends, and just being the "new kid" is always a pain in the ass. I try to make the new ones feel welcome when I can! I don't know why people are so mean to eachother

Lol, mine is definatley fear. I do get that interest though, because I am a curios fellow. I hate machines, I fear them, but I am forced to be in contact with them, lol. I remeber a job I had when I was in college was an assembly line. (not pleasant, in the best of circumstances, lol) so I was lucky enough to be put on a machine called the Mueler, which we called the Mauler it was a long machine with about 20 bins, where I would walk up and down and fill each bin with stacks of paper, which mechanical arms would pull a piece from each bin to make piles of assorted paper.

I've worked with some spirited machines in my day, but that one was the devil itself! lol! Those grasping arms and the unholy sound it would make still haunt me, lol. I learned to cope with it, because a job is a job, but man that took a while to get used to!

Well, it's not really all cold and snow. While the winter can be terrible sometimes (almost -20'C), the summer tends to be just as bad (40-45'C)! XD I like it when the temperature is around 20-25'C, 30 is already too much for me too bear I'd rather be freezing my ass off, than boiling in the hot sun! X'D I haven't personally seen a desert, although apparently there is one somewhere in Poland...

It wasn't that bad being the new kid...everyone went crazy and wanted to be friends when they heard I was from Canada, but wanting to be someone's friend just because they're from another country...? That's a bit...shallow But some of the people were actually sincere in their friendship, I might even say I met some of my best friends in elementary school. Junior high wasn't that bad...but high school was a pure nightmare. Most of the people were assholes, always thinking only of themselves. It was a constant rat race: who has better grades, who's better dressed, has more money, etc. It was 3 years of downright HELL! D: I'm glad I made it out of there unbroken! XD One of the girls from my class actually ended up on psychiatric meds and spent the last year taking private classes in her home...O___o

Freezing is always better than burning. After all, you can always put on more clothes! You can only take off so much before the police come to get you and people in America are VERY prude about that, so freezing it is! lol But how the hell is there a desert in Poland?!? Crazy mother nature can't make up her mind!

Boy our cultures are so different, but so similar too! Maybe people there are less inclined to pick on others from being somewhere new because european countries are smaller that America. Here it is wierd to get someone from a different land, there it must be pretty common. I came from the south, so I had a cajun accent, and lord did they ridicule me for that! But taht is awesome they loved you for being from Canada, lol! Shallow, yes, but cool nonetheless!

Where we meet is the assholes part. Grades weren't such a big thing in my school, but money, clothes, mates, everything did! This guy is popular because he is rich, is a football player, and is dating the most attractive girl in school! How DARE you taint him with your presence! Fukken dirtbags! Oh I hate people like that so much! But that's okay, those are the people who their world ends at High school. Once they get out into the real world, their little bubble pops, and everything comes spiralling down. Karma always wins I beleive that niceness brings it's own rewards! Plus I keep in contact with a few of them, and seeing how far the mighty have fallen is pure comedy to me I know that sounds evil...probably because it is! I try not to hate, but for them I will make an expcetion!

That is TERRIBLE news about that poor girl! Did you know her well?!

Libbit In reply to Everyday-Grind-Comic [2010-03-11 17:42:44 +0000 UTC]

Yes, there is a desert! XD [link]

It's not really that common to get people from other countries here... There are a lot of Asians (mainly Chinese or Vietnamese), but other than that there really are very few foreigners. (unless you count college/uni students - if you go to Cracow for example, there are plenty of Spaniards, British, Italians, Ukrainians etc.)

People here always divide themselves into 2 dominant groups: those who have the best grades and those who are good looking and have money. The rest are usually picked on and teased for whatever reason. There's sometimes a 3rd group - people who are neither rich nor smart, but are popular because they're fun to hang out with - party people, but the relaxed type, they're usually music lovers and like to entertain the rest of the class with what they say and how they act.
In my case this group consisted mainly of metal and rock lovers yeah! To be honest, these were probably the only people I was actually friends with in high school!

I still meet with her sometimes She was always a bit strange, but she was friendly and fun to talk to And I was never one to shun a person, just because they're different She's doing a lot better now btw! Goes to college, met a lot of nice and friendly people there. I'm really happy for her ^^

Oh my god, a freakin' desert! well I'll be a monkeys bare assed uncle, as we say in america!

That was pretty much the same social structure we had at our school, but we broke it down a little further. Ours was:

The Jocks- Football/cheerleaders, popular, athletic and just plain all around assholes.

The Preppies- Rich kids, superficial, proud, jerks. They were concerned with looking the best, having the best grades, having the most money, etc.

The Nerds- Just as the name says. I was this group for a while, lol

The misfits- Just like your metal rocker dudes, cool with just about everyone. I was later part of this group. My accent went from being my downfall to the thing that made me popular

what group would you have fit in? lol!

That is good to hear that she turned out okay! Sadly many people never get over social torture. It is so sad what kids will do to eachother, just to be popular

How can someone's accent decide whether their popular or not?
Hmm...dunno really... I have a few nerdish traits, but I'd probably be one of the misfits I don't really care about groups, I've always tried to get along with everybody

Lol, accents are a weird thing in America. American accents are very, very plain. I know everyone says that about their own, but most american accents have nothing to them. There are exceptions, though, southern USA or "cajun" accent, which is a mix of american, french, and lazy, lol! They loved it after a while because of how I would pronounce things. I am very shy, and they would love to pick on me by volunteering me to read in front of the class. It worked, I was embaressed as hell but people learned to love it, and like it or not, it was my claim to fame. If you have ever seen Disney's "Princess and the Frog" or listened to Wakka from Final Fantasy 10, that is my accent

I always make friends with everyone, but back in the day I was very introverted and scared of people, lol! So the nerds were my brothers. But sadly, in my school at least, people would put you ina group whether you like it or not, and others would try desperately to get into one. It reminds me of an old saying, "To avoid drowning, become the sea"

Aaah! I know the feeling of always being picked to read stuff despite not wanting to XD I had that all the time in my English classes. Here in Poland we learn British English, so an American accent was a rarity I always get nervous while reading out loud, and with everyone watching and listening so intensely it was even harder XD I NEVER volunteered to read anythink on my own, lol! And now when I thought that was over...BAM! Last week my Literature professor suddenly said "I need a strong, outgoing girl with a lot of guts and who isn't shy or easily embarrassed! This is a rather...vulgar text..." O___o Yeah, and guess who she chose... >___>

Both seen "Princess and the Frog" and played FFX! XD That's awesome! No wonder they liked your accent!!! 8D

I know, it wasn't like you could always choose which group you're a part of, but I never cared about groups, I'd simply hang out with those I wanted to

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Everyday-Grind-Comic In reply to Libbit [2010-03-21 00:03:05 +0000 UTC]

British english is always so fun to do! You can say so many hilarious things! The one they HATE is Pissed. There it means drunk, here it means angry. "Man that guy pisses me off!" there, fag means cigarette, here it is a homosexual person. Pussy means cutie over there, here it is a derogatory term for a womans privates, or a cat, or someone who is scared. We can never agree, lol!

Roflmao!!! What vulgar text did they have you read? That is always the worst! It makes the whole expericence that much crazier

I don't know if there's an English translation of it...it's called "Conversations which Wise King Solomon Had with the Stout and Bawdy Marcholt" by Jan of Koszyczki (he was one of the first known Polish translators, lived in the 15th-16th century )
