Description
Penny Dreadful is this amazing show set in 1890s London; Miss Vanessa Ives is one of the central characters, played by the talented and hauntingly beautiful Eva Green. What's not to want to draw there? Also, it gave me an excuse to use flower and religious imagery and apparently to try my hand at damask.

I used a different coloring method than normal: I painted everything in monochrome, with the same color scheme that the backdrop has, then used an overlay layer to tint it like an old photo. I guess this is technically underpainting, but I can't say it resembled either the traditional or digital method of doing so.
