He was not dead. He was a lizard!
What can I say. I hated all of this. Ben Solo and Rey deserved better. The whole trilogy, the old characters' sacrifices, Star Wars itself, and the art of storytelling, all deserved better. Anakin's lighsaber deserved better than being buried in f*cking sand.
Anyway, this is my headcannon now

I haven't seen 9 yet. I was introduced to the franchise in the order 1-4-5-6-2-3, etc so I can see what people don't like about 1-2-3 but all of the original 6 showed an expansive universe. 7-8-9 on the other hand have plenty of background aliens but they feel like the background aliens of men in black. They don't exist outside of that scene and are only there to fill out the background.

He did, yes, he did. And now, every OT character's death is ultimately meaningless, because they sacrifized themselves so Ben could come back to the Light and be saved. Death is not salvation. Death is just... death.
And the best thing? Rey ended up alone again in a desert. Yayyyy character development!
