Seeing Finn gleefully howling as he killed Stormptroopers was sad. Come on, he was one of them, he knows they are brainwashed children turned into soldiers. And yet we see him slaughtering them like... "WHOOO ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!!"
Also, yeah, we're not going to get gay characters any soon. Disney's too busy licking the Chinese government's arse.

In Disney's defense re:gay characters, it's more than just the Chinese government causing it.

For example, there's Russia/Eastern Europe, Muslim majority countries, and even domestic opposition that would hamstring the Sequel trilogy's profitability.


Sidenote: I did like the chemistry between Finn & Poe and would have liked to see their relationship blossom in the films

You're right. Many markets would have vetoed the trilogy. Sad, but true.
I personally think that Poe should have died in TFA, though. That way Finn could have developed better as a character instead of being assigned subplots that added nothing to the big story. I feel like he never stopped being a mere sidekick U_U.

while that is true, Disney could go fine without money from the Russian or Muslim market but the Chinese market is so big, that many movie makers don't even care about box office numbers of Europe/the US anymore as long as it hits in China. They wouldn't care that much if, let's say Russia for eg, wouldn't put the movie into the cinemas or raise the rating because of a gay Finn/Poe but they would care a lot if China did that. And yes, I think everyone liked the chemistry and many people, including the actors, saw the chemistry aswell.

TLJ had many ridiculous stuff (Casino space donkeys hurr durr rich people bad / Poe's stupid mutiny because Holdo couldn't communicate like a proper leader), but I think that, at least, the director tried to go in a new direction, instead of using nostalgia. You could feel that the characters were developing, changing, moving on from the past (and so was doing the trilogy), and Kylo/Rey/Luke's scenes were pure gold. TLJ was flawed, but brave, and I admire that. That's my opinion, at least XD

The only thing I liked about TLJ was Luke, actually. Many people hated that he only made a projection to stop Kylo but I only thought that this was true Jedi awesome way. However the whole thing they did with Finn and Poe, their stories in there, were so stupid it made me angry (exactly because of what you pointed out). And Rise of the Skywalker felt in many ways like they tried to did damage repair from TLJ (looking at you, Rose.)

I liked Luke too! His ending was the most epic (and yet, peaceful) thing in the entire movie. He managed to save the Resistance from the FO, save his nephew from himself (while, at the same time, allowing him to go apeshit on him), and all of it without shedding a drop of blood, his or others'. He was truly the son of Padme, and a great Jedi, and it showed.

Finn and Poe were... God, their plots could have been cut from this movie and I wouldn't have missed anything. I just wanted to go back to the interesting thing: the Jedis, the Dark Side, Luke, Rey, and Kylo. The Resistance's plots in this trilogy have been quite... derailing? And don't get me wrong, I LOVE Finn! But his character never really got to evolve, or change, or have a satisfying arc beyond TFA. Poe was unnecessary after TFA. And Rose... I mean, she was adorable, but that's not enough to add her character to a movie that has enough trouble telling its basic story in only 2 hours. It sucks away precious screen time that could have been used for other characters.

That being said... what they did to Rose in TRoS was awful, much worse considering the amount of hate and harrassment the poor actress received... just for playing a character! People are crazy, and JJ pandered to the worst part of the fandom by tossing her character aside. 

(Also, I've read your other comment. You're right. Everything is about China's censorship. I wish this trend would end, but... well, it won't. Because money and stuff ¬¬)

You have no idea how happy I am to see that someone has the same opinion like me on Luke there Yes, yes and yes to what you said. I have no clue why people fail to understand that??

But I have to say even though I love Finn aswell (love the Actor) I would've liked it the other way around... that Finn dies in TLJ and not Poe in TFA (I read somewhere that was planned but the character was just too likeable or something?)

I have to say though even though I am not one of those horrible persons who would jump on a hatetrain against the actress of Rose (because wtf is wrong with people), I disliked how her character was written and her actions in TLJ were... really, really stupid. And to me it was a problem to add her because then neither Poe nor Finn could develop as characters (maybe they could've better when they would've been on the trip together) but instead they added another character that, like you said, never got to matter and sucked up screen time. Anyway I was actually glad she was basically written out of TRoS even though I knew why. And I agree with you that JJ fed the wrong part of the fandom with that. Like I said... damage control...

Well one thing is nice for sure about the movies, seeing you coming up with new comics

It's a mess. The pace, the plot, the characters' arcs. It also throws every advancement introduced in TLJ out of the window, contradicting points already established in the previous movies.
There are plenty of videos meticulously explaining everything wrong with the movie. If you're interested, I can share some with you ^^

I think I may have seen some of those videos, but then again those are a genre of their own. It's a shame for all those removed plot points, like the one that connected the movie to the Clone Wars and the Mortis arc. The young Palpatine story line that seems to have been removed completely. This movie seems to have been so desperate to remove Last Jedi from the equation that it ended tripping over its corpse. I never had high hopes for this trilogy from the beginning but Rise really seams like a last spit in the face of George Lucas and all his hard work. And there doesn't seems to be an end in sight for the Disney Star Wars.
