Jay and I did a sequel to our original Rogue concept shoot. Since most of this is CG... ya gotta wonder how any Production Design is involved. Well... how'd she get up there in the first place. lol. Used a trampoline and some industrial fans to get the right feel of wind going through her hair and jacket. She had to jump on the trampoline and jump off... pose in midair then land. CGI, photography, cosplay, this pic fits a lot of categories, and looks striking in any one of them! I'm impressed the costuming--it is tops! The creases in those boots and folds the jacket, gloves, and otherwise tight outfit give it a sense of being used, even the model has the broader, rounder face that Rogue is supposed to have. One can almost smell and taste the crisp and rarified air and feel the cool breeze!

It's amazing how far CGI has come. When I was a kid... oh wait, there wasn't ANY CGI back then. Ha. Not even wire models.
I am curious though as to how much is Computer work. The costume looks real, but the leather jacket looks too crisp, too real. Or is that just in my mind.
Damned impressive. The young lady is quite impressive as well.

The costume is real. We try to get as much of the real costume into the shot... as much as possible. The only time we did CG on a costume I think was for Morrigan. We had real wings made out of rubber and latex but it didn't work out so we had to CG that instead. Other than that costumes are always to spec as much as we can. We trained a costume designer to do our layouts over the years so she's used to my stranger requests. For the jacket I requested Jay and Badj (costume design) to make it out of brown canvas material (like the one they use for thick pants). It was a balance between price (real leather of the quality I wanted is way to expensive in Manila) and realism.

It is impressive. I blame my eyes. I left photography shortly after digital cameras entered the market. I was always a die hard believer in film. I guess this cinches it. Digital is far more crisp.
