Description Hello guys

Yes, it's Allison Iraheta (She's simply awesome! ) again. She's the lead singer of a band called "Halo Circus" now.

It has been the first time I used my new pastel pencils. I really love to work with them, but I don't know how to sharp them (can anybody help me, please?).

My scanner is an idiot - it didn't scan the whole drawing, but I cannot take a good picture of it so - here we go. Just imagine that it's A4-size

Love the shading and the hair colour super


A craft knife I find the best for sharpening pastel pencils, but be super careful. People have mentioned electric sharpeners but have not tried them to be honest.


Why not try mixing your materials up with Conte crayons - a slightly harder pastel drawing stick for the fine details, using the edge.

Are your pastels the traditional ones or as pencil pastels?Β 


Oh & my scanner bleaches the colour out of my work too... Scanners are very annoying!! This is why my photos aren't great but it's better than using the scanner Β

Pencil pastels (I thought I could work better with them, because they look like normal pencils ).

So my scanner isn't the only idiot-scanner on earth I think the photos of drawings are pretty good! I have shaking hands...

I've got a few pencil pastels & like you, I thought I'd get on better with them because they're pencil shaped....and mostly I do, I just don't use them much because they don't work how I want them to work...yet!! I need to practice with them more. Oh & I sharpen them with a normal pencil sharpener


No, your scanner isn't the only one Mind you, I take about 6 or 7 shots to get one that I can use!!

But if I sharpen them with a normal sharpener the lead breaks off Because it's so powdery... But thank you nevertheless!

Oh that's annoying! I've got some of the Faber Castell ones & they don't.. At least, not so far! Maybe a knife? Though I can't be trusted to do stuff like that myself, I end up in a big messΒ Β
