Ok. I have finished. And I am so proud. As I go looking through my gallery today, I am so proud and pleased with myself, at how far I have come and by how much I have improved - in my anatomy, shading, backgrounds and more. Usually I would never take on a challenge as large and complicated as this - but I did. And I think I did pretty well. Compared to my first ever digital painting-->fav.me/d49e7ol , I think I can say I have improved a lot Thank you so much to everybody who supported me, gave me advice and inspired me - without out you, this end result would not have been. I love you guys!!!!

RWP had been waiting for an event as large as this. As large, as global, as dangerous. The Park needed exposure for their Nordanners, and when they received a letter inviting them to the Annual Nordanner Dragon Hunt, how could they refuse?? Their gorgeous Starter Nordanner Mare, Flower, had just been put back into work after having a break and several foals, and this was the perfect opportunity to showcase her and her talents. After discussing it with the whole family, it was decided that instead of sending in Fiore by herself with a rider, that the family would send in a team of Nordanners, rider less, to defeat the Dragon and collect their token. Afterall, surely a human life was more important than the life of a prized horse, should the worst happen.

The next month was a frantic rush, leasing Nordanners and buying and fitting Dragon tack fit for such prized and beautiful steeds. In the end, it was decided that five other horses would join Fiore - Loco, Deimos, Aris, Torchwood and Adrestia. All beautiful Nordanners, with the blood of Dragon Hunters cursing through their veins.
With the choice of Nordanners, the Park also decided to alter the Dragon Tack of the Nordanners - as there would be no riders, there was no need for reins or stirrups, and besides, these could be a disadvantage to a Nordanner in a fight.

On the day of the Hunt, the sky was clear and a light blue, with thin wisps of clouds littered here and there. It was unseasonably cold, with a freezing wind whipping down the mountains off the ocean. RWP had been assigned to search through the mountains for a Dragon, and should they find one, they would need to battle it in some way, and then should they win, collect a token to take back to the Queen of Aleria, to prove their strength and courage. It was nerve-wrecking for the family - even Skylar had flown in from the RRD challenge to be supportive and help. They tacked up the Nordanners quickly, and with heavy hearts watched Flower lead her team into the mountains - waiting and hoping for them all to return uninjured and successful.

After hours of searching, Flower led her team deeper and deeper into the mountains, following the scent of Dragons in the air. They came upon a large cave entrance, the rock smelling like rotting carcases and mould. The Nordanners paused, their heads lifted sniffing the air, before slowly entered in a single file, Torchwood snorting as the rank air entered her nostrils. They journeyed deeper, into darker caves and tunnels, the scent of Dragon getter stronger and stronger with every step. After hours of seeking, they entered a large underground cavern, with a waterfall and a large underground lake filled with clear cold water. The waterfall trickled down from a large crevice next to the back wall, and from this crevice sunlight filtered down. The water and spray from the waterfall created a thick mist - it swirled around the horses feet as they entered the water. The fog was so thick, it was hard to see the jagged rocks that came up from the water, and several times one of the Nordanners bumped into these. After they all sniffed the water thoroughly, Flower dipped her nose to drink from the cool clear water, signalling that the water was safe to drink. They all lowered their heads to drink, and as Flower raised hers to look around, she could not help but acknowledge the feeling that they were all being watched.

Serious respect to everyone who read that wall of writing -_- This piece of art also serves as my entry to two different Breeding Auctions, I hope I do well!! I may or may not animate it, (I don't want to kill it), but by my calculations all the Nordanners in this image receive +3 kaaring...
