On the second Halloween guys were vampires. And as I said bc I missed most of October, I celebrate it in November.

Red spots are defect left from eye color change – it is places where blue didn’t layer well.
Andy has it in both eyes. Spot’s visibility varies Depending on light and iris size. While it’s fixable cosmetic defect, Andy never went to fix it, because his caretaker prohibited him ever touching his eyes ever again in fear he can damage his eyesight. And he likes this defect same way he doesn't get rid of his face scar.And yes, here he wears red lens for the right eye.

Oh, it's more complex than that.
His eyes are from birth very dark brown, almost pitch black. He stood out around other Andelswitzes, who at mass due to family's religious closeness (i.e. marrying people of same belief) have combination black hair (check) and variation of light eyes (he fails to check).
The only dark eyed Andelswitzes were his biological father and one of grandparents, but because Andy never saw them during his conscious age, he lived under impression no one except him has such dark eyes. His biological father was a d*ck by spreading rumor Andy isn't his child (which is false) using eye color as proof. He said that his then wife who is light-eyed probably cheated on him, because he was sure his offspring from a light-eyed woman can only have light eyes.
Because Andy changed families, but stayed within Andelswitz's family tree, he, from time to time was picked out as "oh, that's not your kid, it's that adopted one", as he almost always was only one dark-eyed among whole family he was living with at the time.
From two these factors from early age there was a pressure on Andy standing out due to such little detail (but as an adult he stands out anyway due to strong facial structure, lol). He, as a kid appeared to be fine with that because he didn't want to be part of Andelswitz family whom he viewed as bad people bc (in his eyes) they constantly mistreat him (i.e. punish for bad behavior), break promises and hurt him (mentally, because imagine switching families all the time where adults say "you're here to stay, call us mom and dad" and then in few moths being passed to another "mom and dad").
However, his journey ended with Angelica Andelswitz - his now caretaker mentioned above. She is far from "typical Andelswitz" and sincerely loves the boy as own son. And now feeling safe and loved, guy wanted to be her son and wanted to be part not of "previous Andelswitz family", but exactly "her Andelswitz family" and bc people always talk about his eye color it became important to change it. He also just wanted to look different, closer to what he has in mind.
Eye color change is very standard and commercialized procedure during times he lives in, people do it often themselves using a kit. Downside is that person can't return to original color and can harm eyesight. Basically, iris is "bleached" of original color, which by default turns bright red which serves as 1. SPF coat 2. a base where it's easy to notice such "unpainted" spots. Younger (around his early teens) Andy did what he did, obviously not perfect at all, thus spots stay. His caretaker didn't appreciate his "surprise" and was more worried about his eyesight, prohibiting him to do anything else with his eyes.

Because his bio father is a d*ck who hated his wife by the end of their relationship. He kept on twisting biology and reality to fit his narrative. Man invented whole story about her finding other guy with higher chance of having a dark eyed offspring than him to cover fact she cheated, because she is "oh-so-smart" to fool others. Well, Andy's bio grandparents didn't believe this. And Andy is totally his son, because it was proven he is related to his now caretaker exactly the way it's expected to.
I'm glad too. She is overall a good person. :') Only shame they didn't meet earlier.
It wasn't, he seems to be lucky at that regard. His eyes survived eye color change unharmed and even that terrible wound that is now a scar.
