My entry for *shilin 's contest with the theme 'Transcendence'.I thought of doing a typical "omg my character's powerlevel is over 9000!" picture, but made up my mind and did something a little different.

Heh, everytime for over 1 year and 3 months i see this image when i open up my favs. And every time i think this is one of the few that actually transmit a meaning, i wonder what it is.. maybe the colors and expressions/stance/hair/clothes everything seems to help build a mood.
Well i just thought i should rectify never to have commented on my favourite fav (least in this art category ,p)

Aww that means alot to me! I tried to express 'Transcendence' in the way of.. not neccessarily rising above the usual, but finding a way out of difficult times (the dark valley) and returning to -perhaps even a better version of- yourself. To me, that's the most impressive kind of transcendence.

The design for the staff is amazing! I really like her expression and the whole feel of the picture, it seems like she's on one long and tiresome journey. Lovely design on her clothes as well. Great job!

Wow, the lighting is really nice here. That, and Tobi's pose/expression and the background give it a really nice "cool night" feel (did that make sense? lol) Anyways, I really like the mood~

I like how you painted Tobi. It's very soft and clean. Tobi's clothes are also very well designed. : )
I also like the mountain and the stars. They give this...feeling into the picture, one that I can't describe (properly).

Thanks for the comment :3 yeah I couldve integrated the light moreso in the background and increased the light/dark contrast.., your right!

Woah! Great background, Dynamics, character design and ribbon coloring! I really like the pose, you can almost feel the wind.
