If I was referring to the planet, it would be "Terra" and be a circle with a cross in it.

Earth and earth are different. Magical symbol for earth is correct here in this case. When I (and other practitioners of the Royal art) think of earth, I mean earth, the element, the planet (when considering it in alchemy and magic) is Terra (where the name Earth was derived).

well the resin i was confused is because you have the planetary symbols for the sun, mars, Saturn, Venus.
