I've seen a lot of drawings of the Demolition Lovers, and the majority of them portray the lovers as Gerard did on the cover of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.
But yesterday I was listening to Bullets, and I thought: "Yes, they destroyed each other, but they did it because they loved each other. What they were before becoming Demolition Lovers?"
Thus, I decided to draw the exact moment when the two of them fell in love with each other. I tried to convey as much love as I could in their expressions, and hope at the same time, because in that moment they probably thought that life wasn't going to be so bad with the person you love by your side.
