"Wait? Where's Tio?! WHAT HAPPENED TO TIO?" Calm down, yo. Tio's fine. Maybe. Why? Well...

Vera and Tio made up the mischievous Team Fox Trot-- until one day Tio ventured outside into the fog beyond Andalusst-- and why, Vera doesn't know, because Tio never returned. Upset and distraught, she immediately sought out Tio's sister Avery in the hopes the two of them will find him soon.

So yes, for now, Mercutio "Tio" the Zorua is an NPC. I really wanted to give Avery a go with X/Y coming out so soon! Also, this app art is temporary-- although I will likely draw Vera in a similar pose, her accessory is subject to change, and Avery's background was half-assed (actually it was pretty much just assed like seriously it is shIT) to get this out there for now.

Anyway, onto the team!

Name: Vera (Veer-uh)
Species: Vulpix
Gender: Female
Ability: Flash Fire
Age: ~20/21 in human years, not sure what that would be for Pokemon...?

Personality: She is haughty and bossy, and is mainly the brains of Team FoxTrot, since she doesn't really enjoy dirtying her paws. She is quick to make a sassy remark, especially if in a situation where she is not in control. Despite this, she is the easiest to get along with out of FoxTrot, especially where other guilds are concerned, since she is well aware that some schemes and plans cannot be pulled off alone. While at times she can be very cynical, she does have some slight naivete when it comes to encouraging other Pokemon's dreams or goals-- unfortunately this has the side effect of coming across as very two-faced and fake, even if she doesn't mean to be. Vera has a bit of a tell for when she is being deliberately cunning-- she has no qualms about deceiving with her looks. While this will work the first time or so around, it's her greatest trick so she uses it repeatedly, negating its effect on the same Pokemon.
History:
- born and raised in some city (near water???)
- tried to start up a fashion company, funding fell through
- resorted to embezzling and schemes to foot the company bill as well as her own
- was eventually caught and did a stint in jail, used minor psychic powers to make guards friendlier to her and thus reduce her sentence time (see History panel #2)
- her family then promptly disowned her, and she was kicked out of her home.
- She later met Tio, and the two of them joined the Hunters in hopes of finding wealth and happiness.
- Then Tio disappeared... Hm...

- she picked their team name, as she enjoys Foxtrot music and is a dance hobbyist. Mercutio just thought it sounded cool so he let her.
- is not as afraid of water as she probably should be due to living in a city near water before coming to Dreamer's Eye.

- Her hair design is based off of Georgette's from Disney's Oliver & Company and Dixie's from Disney's The Fox and the Hound 2.
- Her name was partially inspired by designers Vera Wang and Vera Bradley, as well as the haughty actress character Vera Charles from the novel Auntie Mame.
- She's a coffee drinker. She likes it black, surprisingly. Mercutio's the one who likes it with cream and sugar.
- Refuses to evolve, since she doesn't want to become anything like her mother that threw her out, and her mother (Saya) is a Ninetails. Her dad (Charles) is a Linoone, and a well off businessman.
- She is in love with Tio-- not that she's aware she is.

Personality: Avery is the embodiment of what it means to be a fire Pokemon. Hotheaded, tomboyish, and just as mischievous as her brother, Avery is bold and not afraid to flaunt her power. She is a proud metal welder, and is always willing to display her skills. She's confident and brash to a fault, and often ends up causing some sticky situations, hence why she was originally not on Team Fox Trot until Tio's disappearance. She cares a lot about her brother, as he is one of the few friends she has had, because of how intimidating she comes across and her ability to drive people away with her ego. She is determined to do better, but her bluntness is a pressing issue, which Vera is working on to fix. Avery hopes someday to become the wealthiest businessmon in the entire world, but since metal is so rare, she might have to do some nasty things to get it to weld it... Which she has no problem with.
History:
- Her mother (Mikura), a Braixen, was a Shaman in her tribe, and was not allowed to have children. However, she fell in love with a Houndoom (Welson) and laid Avery's egg. She immediately gave the egg to him, and he left without so much a word, knowing her duties were important to her. Avery hatched and Welson raised Avery as a single parent for a long time, while trying to start his own business-- Welson's Welding Company.
- They moved to a big fancy city. Avery loved it. While she lacks intellectual smarts, she is very street savvy.
- Welson's business began to thrive. Avery wanted to be his apprentice. He said welding was not a job for a girl. Avery never stops asking, though.
- Welson met Scarlett, a Zoroark, and they got married. With Scarlett came Tio (back then called Oliver), a Zorua not much older than Avery. Welson wanted Oliver to become his welding apprentice. Oliver was not interested. He ran away, with Avery's help.
- With Oliver out of the picture, Avery thought this was an opportunity to become her dad's apprentice. When he refused, she showed him her skills-- her fire burns blue, hotter than his, hotter than any she had seen. He then made her his apprentice.
- Yet, Avery wasn't happy. Her life felt empty-- whether it was her brother and only friend running away, or her wondering about her birth mother, she didn't know. So she asked if she could start a branch of the business and left, and found Tio using her Psychic powers-- since he had settled down in a city and was not in the fog, she could detect and connect with him.
- Started up a small business in Andalusst, primarily fixing metal objects for others, as metal is hard to come by for her to create her own projects.
- She now is looking for her brother, and blames Vera for his disappearance.
Other:
- I specifically picked a gender-neutral name for her.
- Her Flamethrower burns blue, like a gas-powered flame-- making it a hotter flame than most.
- Both her and Vera use their Psychic abilities to manipulate objects.
- Avery's Hidden Power is water, so she's not very good at it, and she wants to improve. It's handy for fixing metal objects in dungeons-- ex. she melts the metal with Flamethrower, manipulates it with Psychic, douses it with Hidden Power. It is the one skill she's ashamed of not mastering, since it's really only good for utility purposes and not attacks, but she will still toot her own horn about mastering fire and water, all the same.
- Avery has a little bit of what is most similar to a New York/Brooklyn accent.
- She can find other Pokemon with Psychic as long as she knows them and they aren't lost in a foggy labyrinth.
- She also tends to use Swagger at the worst possible moment. Always.

Personality: He is sneaky and mischievous, and is all about causing trouble, especially if it stirs up a bit of fun and profit. He is also very stubborn and quick tempered, although he is less so with Vera, who is easily one of his best friends. He can be a bit of a womanizer, although he pulls no moves on Vera, knowing she can be equally as deceitful if she wants to be. While he is more of the "brawn," he is technically more so the one who does the harder part of missions, considering he can disguise himself to look like any Pokemon that would give them an advantage with his Illusion ability. He's very secretive about his past.
History:
- His father was a sickly Absol, and he and his mother Scarlett lived in an isolated forest until his father lived out the rest of his days.
- Upon his father's death, Tio (then Oliver) and his mother moved to a city.
- His mother was negligent, and he had free roam of their house and the city.
- His mother remarried to a Houndoom he had never met. Tio wasn't pleased, although he did gain a younger sister, and the two of them got along very well.
- Tio ran away after his step-dad tried to have him become his welding apprentice.
- Later met Vera, who captured his heart immediately, not that he realizes it...
- Formed Team Fox Trot of the Hunters guild.
- Disappeared into the fog for reasons unknown...
Other:
- his real name is Oliver, Mercutio is an alias. Both of these names come from famous characters of English Literature, Mercutio from Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet and Oliver from Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist.
- His real name being Oliver and Vera's being based off the character from the Disney movie that was modeled after Oliver Twist was actually a coincidence it just kinda happened WAS TOTALLY PLANNED. I'm a genius.
- Unlike most Zorua, he has a dark tail tip.
- Actually joins Vera in dancing sometimes, is a bit of a natural but "trips" on his tail if he ever wants to get out of it.
- Is actually fairly hostile to most other Zorua/Zoroarks considering their ability to deceive.
