I'm actually 18 I just think I'm funny so boom there's your title babeyyyy
2020 is the year of revamping some ocs so what better way to start then some ocs that I've admitedly been neglecting? ye
Chimaera and Thrashermaw have been a part of my creative mind for a long while and I decided to make some changes to their stories, personalities, etc. I like doing sketches and stuff since I'm a lazy shit when it comes to actually completing a piece, but hey I'll take what I can get.
Honestly the biggest change was with Thrashermaw in regards to editing his backstory and personality, along with revamping his design to make it unique from his previous one and keeping it similar as to where he can be recognized in terms of AbyssWing lore n shit
Thrashermaw:
Thrashermaw was the result of Prince Hexanchus falling in love and having an affair with a Turnfin, Blackfin. Eventually, Blackfin fell expectant and once she laid her egg she gave it to Hex, unable to raise it with the harsh lifestyle she was going back to. So, without the support of his nasty wife, Hookfang, he raised Thrashermaw on his own. From the moment he hatched he learned that his animalistic instincts were forbidden and dangerous. Years of harsh punishments, threats, and many small scars led to Threshermaw being eerily still and lacking of outward emotion, unconsciously afraid of consequence just like when he was a dragonet. High expectations and scrutiny placed on him give him the appearance of low intelligence even though he is of an average intelligence. Thrashermaw hides his flaws under a mask of royal poise, growing restless suppressing any emotions or need to even move. He uses this need to hunt large prey, unfortunately the muscle adding onto his already large, brutal frame. Despite his status as a Prince, Thrashermaw rarely is allowed into participating royal duties, but those he is assigned to he does with the upmost care, such as army assembly and palace shipment inspection. He is rarely formally seen by the public, but his is known as the "Feral Prince."
One day, however, he is approached by a psychology researcher when a large scientific conference was in session. Her group's goal was to study behavioral differences between AbyssWing populations, and this researcher wanted to interview him. This small, green lass was Chimaera, and was surprised at his intelligent answers, making fascinating and telling reports in attempt to disprove the "Feral Hybrid Hypothesis". In this time, the two develop feelings for each other, with Thrashermaw being baffled at her willingness to talk to him and having an interest in what he had to say. However, as a Prince, and a hybrid no less, he was terrified to confess to Chimaera before she left in fear of whatever torture he would receive. Taking the risk, he told her before she left, feeling optimistic before his rebellious action was noticed. As a punishment from the furious Hookfang, he was forced to wear a spiked collar, that would tighten around his throat at the display of any unwanted behavior, or simply whenever she saw fit. Her own rage dealt unnecessary corrections and threats, even choking him to the point of puncturing his scales and passing out as an outlet to her inner turmoil of her step son being from a loving relationship, one she never had. Unfortunately, this torture was not short lived, ending when Thrashermaw was close to being choked to unconsciousness, instinctually snapping. In an act of desperation, he swiped Hookfang's jaw, dislocating it severely. His trial was very public, with evidence from Chimaera's research aiding his case, eventually receiving no punishment. As a result, the torture from Hookfang was seen as despicable, landing her in hot water.
Being given more freedom from his proven innocence, he is able to come back into contact with Chimaera when she visited Midnight City for work, learning that she felt the same way about him as he did with her.
Chimaera:
Chimaera was dropped off to an orphan as an egg, hatching into a weak dragonet that had to fight for food, which she would lose. As a result, the critical growth she needed as a dragonet was lacking, leading to her stunted size as a result of malnutrition. A curious dragonet, she explored the orphanage, one night accidentally escaping and becoming more and more frightened as she wandered the streets looking for home. Eventually, she became exhausted, being very young and near skeletal, curling up on a doorstep to collapse. This household belong to Murrayi and Latimeria with their son Ferox, who took her in, raising and loving her as their own.
As she grew up, it became obvious that her malnutrition would affect her for the rest of her life as she was shorter than any male AbyssWing. However, what she lacked in physical prowess she made up for in her education. Not being one to participate in any sports, Chimaera liked to read often, reading in her pastime and becoming relatively shy and clumsy in social situations. A smart dragoness, Chimaera was able to graduate and attend University where she studied to become a psychology researcher specializing in behavior. Luckily, when she was still a student, she was given the opportunity to attend a conference in Midnight City and the Royal Palace itself. Due to her specialty, she got to interview the infamous Prince Thrashermaw, rumored to be a ruthless hybrid that could snap at any moment. However, Chimaera attempted to disprove this theory knows as the "Feral Hybrid Hypothesis".
In the time Chimaera got to interview and study with him, they had grown fond of each other, but Chimaera kept it to herself, as a Civilian has little chance with royalty. However, she was approached by the Prince before she left, learning that the hybrid had felt the same way about her as she did with him. Unable to stay, she left, but looked forward to seeing him in the near future. To keep him off her mind, she dived into her studies, that is, until news reached her of Prince Thrashermaw's "attack" against Princess Hookfang. Knowing that him being a hybrid would be used against him, she raced to Midnight City, providing the court with documented evidence from herself and her team about the now disproven but still wildly believed hypothesis. Thankfully, Prince Thrashermaw was not punished and proven innocent. Using his new found and extended freedom, he came back into contact with Chimaera, telling him how she reciprocated the feelings he confessed to her.
