So, here's how I'm hoping this goes down.
I'm hoping that Tirek is like a tick that just doesn't know when enough is enough, and just explodes from over-consuming.

That is a classic way for power-sponges to be beaten.

Ahh! But here is the twist. When Tirek finally does explode, it basically sets off a big-bang theory, releasing all the accumulated magic all at once, restoring time and space which has all but completely collapsed.
Of course, that opens the door to a new conundrum, that being, did Tirek's complete absorption of magic cause time to collapse, or was it time collapsing that caused Tirek to gain ultimate power?

I love how you write Tirek here, especially the way he's so single-mindedly obsessed with devouring magic and hoarding power for power's sake. He's not even a villain anymore -- he's just a walking natural disaster.

I have nothing against Moony a good team player. For example, here, she's kinda helping her sister, sort of

All I see is her protecting her night and thestrals. What I would like to see (not my story, I cannot write it for you or dictate what's gonna happen) is how current Luna and Celly helps Nigthmare against Tirek, and Moony in turn does something for them. X)
