sharing my lunch with a friend down at the mandurah foreshore today.hey bryan - using the 10mm lens you can appreciate how close this fella needed to come to me to get his food.
kudos to the bird who had the guts to get this close to me and let me make his photo.

I've had them take chips out of my hand once or twice, though that was while hanging my hand out the car window!

yes i was really happy with this when i got the photo home and could see it on the screen.
it all happens so fast. i had to put the shutter speed up high just to make sure it was a clear image.

hehe. what i might do is make another deviation of the steps in getting him to take the food. it was funny for the short time. he was ever so cautious. then after the first bit of food he became far more confident. then his mates came and spoiled the game

i love the wings too. they seem a perfect balance.
it was so fast. the wings are up and ready to fly as it grabs the food. like one fluid movement.

this was the third attempt. the first two i made the photo just as he pulled away with the food. was not quite at the right moment and did not look right. this i was happy with.
