Description Yeah okay, so having it in snow/ice is pretty generic, but every other place I came up with looked stupid. >.< So here we are! And I'm so very proud of my little Pocchama! I wanted to make it a little mix of life-like and animeish. So I gave Pocchama here a ruffled feather look. And to add some character I gave it a few stubborn feathers on its head. I tried to give most things a texture, though I wasn't really sure what the cape/tail would be made of... so I just left it with shading. I also wanted to deviate from my normal style of felt-pen outlines to give it a rougher edge, so I used ball-point pen on paper. As usual with me, it was colored in Photoshop! ^-^

Heh, it's better than how they named Pochama. Piplup... *Shudders* As much as I prefer dub names, they truly bastardized the greatness that is Pochama! Anywho, I loved this pic! It looks so lovely with those textured feathers! ^_^ It truly is the cutest of the three starters! Great job!

Aww...kawai. ^0^ Personally, I've always found the official Pochama illustrations to be a bit overblown on the cuteness front, but I think this half-lifelike look you went for tones it down just enough to be genuinely adorable. Granted, the snow and ice background is kind of generic, but it's well done and it fits. It's not like you need to revolutionize the concept of backgrounds every time you draw, you know. ^-^ Anyway, yay for my chosen D/P starter being immortalized like this! It would simply be unacceptable for me not to favourite this picture. ^^ *Poofs off to do just that*

Me too! The Sugimori artwork Pocchama has like a huge head! XD Glad to know that I am able to tone things down. I sometimes have a problem of making things too cute.

Yeah, I was kinda unsure if I should have gone with the Sugimori blues or the anime version's blues. In the end I kinda did a compromise. ^-^
