Description
I liked the Sword in the Stone commission enough to throw some colors down on it.I normally would overwrite the inks with a colored piece, but I think these two work well on their own, and each feel complete.
Inked in Illustrator
Colored in Photoshop

God I love this piece. I can hear the lil chorus behind him as Archamedes is shouting 'Better leave it alone boy!'.

Man, if only my messing around granted me this kind of art! Last time I tried messing around...I ended up married and then later a KID! Seriously though, excellent work.

is he leaping, mike? if so i think the snow would work more falling at an angle off his foot towards the bottom left of the page. if he's not, then perhaps the hand on the snow on the snow could use more emphasis as if it were gripping the rock/snow. i'd love to see more depth in the rocks, perhaps some shadow cast by the snow on it? other than those things, the illustration itself is nice, and the colors are workin for it.

yeah, I wanted him leaping into a stretch, with his knee just about planted on the rock. Having the snow fall at an angle would definetly help push that more.
Thanks Sean!
And Merry Christmas if I don't talk to you again before that!

I was wondering about this too when I was at the Tavern. He looks like he is floating. Maybe he isn't leaning enough? He looks like he is standing still in middair.
Lovely work anyway!
