Description I took the photos in this small series at my cousin's wedding reception early in 2006. She was happy to have an annoying photography enthusiast about as she only hired a photographer for the ceremony (that and she was marrying one).
Taken at Mount Lofty Summit.

HOLD A TICK! Mount Lofty?

Your cousin lives in Adelaide, Australia? *shiftyeyes*

Urk.. I wanna go up to Mount Lofty one day. I also wanna go to Barossa, Clare, Cleeland... *and the list goes on*

Cleeland is pretty close to mount lofty summit. It's a good place to go if you want to do touristy stuff like pat koalas and feed kangaroos.
If you don't have transportation of your own this page [link] has information about buses that go up there from the city. Alternately, if you really, really, really like walking, there are hiking trails up there through the conservation park.

I like walking, but not hiking. Cause that usually means through the bush. And plants mean bugs.
I'm not a big bug person. I know I know.. I'm in Australia. I'm royally screwed now.

I don't have my own transportation, but I know people who do, and I'll get thm to bring me one day. Muahaha.. Yeah, I was told I can also get Kangaroo meat to eat up at Cleeland. That's what I'm really aiming for cause I've got a photo idea for it. =b I've promised a fellow DAddict something.

But I'd love to be able to say that I saw a kangaroo and koala up close to everyone else. Hohoho

Living in the hills, I pretty much grew up out in the bushland around my place so nothing on land worries me too much. Jelly fish, on the other hand...

Yeah, many supermarkets have 'roo steaks. Marinated 'roo steaks are some whole other echelon of awesome (looks a bit like dark beef, taste is rather dependent on how it is cooked).

Jellyfish are purdy... To watch, but not touch.

My housemates say as much. One has them roasted, the other on the barbie. I'd love to try em on the barbie... *salivates*

That's the one thing I didn't like about Kangaroo island; tiny brown jelly fish.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! I wanna go to Kangaroo Island... But I won't go into the water if I see jellies... Eep...

Jellies.. It's been a few years since I last saw one close up.

They're only little ones. I don't think they sting badly but the mere fact that they are there freaks me out...

Kee kee kee.. I understand. I nearly expired from a heart attack when my instructor dropped the jelly he was holding on the deck of my kayak while he was passing it to someone else.

I nearly capsized and pulled him down with me too......... *shiftyeyes* That wouldn't have been good cause then the jelly would have been in the water with us too..... *shiftyeyes*

hehe, my mate used to have a beach house down at port willunga. They have little clear jelly things about the size of a marbles, down there. They are pretty benign but when you are 12, there is nothing more hilarious than pooring a bucket full of "sea-beads" into the inflatable boat being hogged by your sister...

URK.. You're CRUELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL... I'd have just capsized the boat and tipped her out. =X

Huhuhu... She's a relatively smart girl. But those jellies weren't poisonous were they? I think you mentioned they were benign... *too lazy to go back and check*
