Nice shot - that looks different from the fungi that grows on the trees here, looks more like the ones growing in the ground

It is different, that's what caught my eye. Also growing from a Cork tree.

Ah, you like savory food, then.
I like a glass of wine with my meal. Don't drink any other time.

They look very interesting, especially with the bark in the background. That's a fungus I don't know yet. Great shot, Norman!

Oh, I thought you was going to give me the full name and why it likes Cork trees.
Thank you and also for the

I think the name of the upper left one is Peter and he thought he would look cute on a Cork tree, so he chose to settle down there with some buddies.
How am I doing?
But if you ever really want to know the name of a certain fungus, there is a ~fungi-club on dA. One of the members, ~SmoothEyes , will very likely be able to help you.
You're so welcome!

Hehe, I'm glad I was able to make you laugh.
There's nothing better but fungi and sunrises, is there?

Thanks Almut. I was expecting the latin name.
Very true, a good laugh is great for the body and soul.

You've managed to blur out a portion of an image that is essentially flat. What aperture did you use there?

Hi Dan, On the full view you can see the blur. I was using F4.5, so very shallow.
3 favs so cannot be that bad.

If 4.5 is very shallow... Then what kind of DOF do I get when I use 2?

Very thin. Great for macros on seeds and mites.

Yep, that would work. 4.5 and below are for macros but hey do what you think is best for the shot.

I can't go below 2 because I don't own any of those super-fast lenses.

You make up for it with increased sensitivity. I have ISO 100.

Again, true. That's were these latest DSLR can go up to 32000 ISO. Bit grainy but still reasonable quality.

Yep. I've now tried shooting with ISO 400, and it came out ok, I guess. But it's almost twice as expensive as the ISO 100 film.

Ah, you won't get much room in those fungi.
Roast beef, potatoes onion gravy yorkshire puddings.
Red wine from Cliff Richards Vineyard in the Algarve, we brought one bottle back.
bread and butter pudding with cream for afters.
Hope that does not make you feel hungary with 15 minutes to go before Top Gear.
