Description
A little comic about a character apparently group created on 4chan called "Golden Girl". The point of the character is that she's a golden age sidekick who develops a lot as she gets older and seemingly she's almost the only person who notices the change in her figure.Related content

Great comic and thank you for introducing Golden Girl for those of us not in the know.
Have you tried reading Berrybelle? Its a new web comic by Shalom, a woman who is made of candy is a superhero. I rather like it and think you could put your spin on some fan art.
Great work, Lightfoot!

I kept telling people that popped buttons from a busty woman's blouse can be dangerous. No one ever listens to reason.
Fantastic job on this one.

I've been involved with the Golden Girl concept since the threads where /co/ created her. It's kind of surreal seeing Audrey starting gain presence outside of 4chan, but in a good way.

I wonder if a group character ends with turmoil? People trying to decide what is canon and what isn't?

I actually haven't seen too much turmoil in the /co/ creation threads. It's mostly fairly civil brainstorming, particularly with a relatively straightforward concept like Golden Girl.

I think I'd have to stick to gag comics with little backstory. Other people are creating other things with her, and it seems like it would be impossible to make any change that would be considered canon-ish unless you had some special claim to her.

Just FYI Captain America had a sometime sidekick in the Golden Age actually called Golden Girl. There's a fan theory that Blind Al, of Deadpool fame, is the retired Golden Girl.

Her name was Betty Ross I guess- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_G…
I remember Betty from Cap, but not her as Golden Girl, although I guess that was near the end of the original Captain America series.
I have a book of the original few Captain America comics and could swear Thunderbolt and Betty Ross from the Hulk were in it at the army base with Steve and Bucky. I'll have to read it again, because maybe I just don't remember correctly. The wiki says differently, that both characters were created in the 1960s, but that a different Betty Ross was in the early Cap comics. I guess it seems unlikely Marvel history was altered later without them mentioning it.
I had assumed that Stan Lee just brought Betty and Thunderbolt into Hulk- like Namor came to the FF, the circus villains came to Spider-Man (they were in the 1940's Cap first I seem to remember), a Human Torch in FF, and Cap into Avengers. But maybe not.

Yeah, Betty and Betsy are two different characters. The Ant Man secret wars tie in clears it up, as well as puts to bed the long held fan theory about Blind Al.

Maybe like 10 times ever. Other artists seem to always mention it, but the place is kind of confusing to me. It's like things just keep repeating. And the idea that everything gets deleted is kind of odd. I don't have anything against the place though. They don't seem to like me. A number of times the newer Pulse had links from 4chan about threads complaining about me. Kind of like if I was ever brought up they'd pile on for some reason. I don't know why.
I heard about the character in the Process Forum.

Cute. I suppose it's one of those problems that is medium specific... if you're in comics, you can be doomed to an eternity of prepubescence... not so much in live action.

I think in comics you stay the same age unless a character doesn't appear in a comic for a while. Then they've progressed into the next age phase.

That was Blonde Phantom's reasoning in Sensational She-Hulk - she had to get back into comics to stop ageing.
Of course, it's a problem for comics which have problematic time scales at the best of times. The best pubescent characters can hope for is to get tossed through a wormhole and come out as adults, really - else they may well be condemned to an eternal puberty.

Very cute! Though it has a bit of The Karate Kid feel to it.
