Description I'm loving the series!
I also love drawing people as puppies, because making them look alike is challenging.

Why a borzoi? Personally they are my most favourite breed of dogs, and I love many breeds. But I made Benedict a borzoi because he has that long, unique face, high cheekbones. He's also tall and gangly and has long fingers. He just looks like a sight hound.
As Sherlock his hair is dark and curly, but he is naturally lighter (his eyebrows give it away), so I didn't want to make him a pitch black thing. Borzois have a fluffy, curly and luxurious coat and a very regal appearance.
As for their nature, they tend to be very stubborn and training can be challenging.
They tend to have a sort of double personality. In the other state, they're calm and relaxed and all they want to do is cuddle and take over the couch. But when they are on their hunting mode, nothing can come in their way. And they aren't called wolfhounds for nothing.
Sherlock too has that very different air to him when he gets a case.
I'd say a borzoi is most fitting.

And I can't believe I wrote that much about this.

Shame they've lost a lot of their power these days due to horrid breeding.
Now you've said that though, I can see Sherlock as this Borzoi and Irene as a she-wolf...and well, the rest is up to you, but, I think you're onto something here.

I'm sure there are still a lot of breeders who have been able to save their quality.
But haha, that's a good metaphor, as they are somewhat rivals...

You've really thought this through x)
I think it fits him. You've done a very good job with the drawing! I like that it's sort of sketchy.

Thank you very much! And yes, as an animal fanatic I tend to think of odd things like this a lot! I'm glad the style is to your liking, I just got this tablet and I'm starting to get the hang of it. (:
